Project Manager for mechanical works - large industrial projects

The ideal candidate:

The ideal candidate must have the ability to deal with a wide range of clients, local and state authorities, subcontractors, consultants, team representatives, and department members.
With proven experience of managing large industrial projects, the candidate should be an effective leader, that fully understands the contractual requirements and also has the ability to provide overall strategy of the technical solution development for the project needs and challenges and have a good understanding of Health & Safety measures.

The candidate must have the required skills to find solutions to a wide range of issues which are sensitive to the pressure of schedule, budget and quality. In addition good communication skills are mandatory.
Ability to work well and lead team members is a must.

Requirements:

Graduated studies of Mechanical Engineering
Minimum 5 years experience in a Project Manager position for large industrial projects, experience in the cement industry is a plus
8 to 20 years professional experience in Mechanical projects
Qualification in project management or equivalent
Fluency in English and French is a must
PC skills: MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Autocad, MS Project or Primavera
Driving Licence: cat.B
International exposure is required
Availability to travel abroad

Job Description:

We are looking for a Project Manager for large industrial projects to join our team in Bucharest.
General Purpose
Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of the project, ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments and goals.
The position will ensure the successful completion of the project, develop project progress reports on a timely basis, and maximize the productivity of the project team members.

Responsibilities:

The position is based in Bucharest, Romania and reports to the Department Manager.
• Managing all line of organization functions for the designated project, including resources planning and administration, project quality assurance, project team support, technical organization support, etc
• Communicating with our clients and understanding their needs.
• Having the complete financial responsibility of the project
• Coordinating the various services of the activity as but not limited to the project (design, offerting, purchasing, execution teams etc)
• Reporting project status, results and performance including quality and schedule.
• Ensures the quality control procedures and measures that are implemented.

Site Engineer for Asyut/Egypt

 The ideal candidate:

  • organization skills and a methodical approach to work;
  • strong analytical and problem-solving skills;

  • fluency in Arabic and English (spoken and written) is a must;
  • knowledge of relevant health and safety Egyptian legislation of is a must;

Responsibilities

Duties vary depending on the type and nature of the project, but typically involve:

  • acting as the main technical adviser on a construction site for subcontractors, crafts people and operatives;
  • setting out, leveling and surveying the site;
  • checking plans, drawings and quantities for accuracy of calculations;
  • ensuring that all materials used and work performed are as per specifications;
  • liaising with any consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, quantity surveyors and the general workforce involved in the project;
  • liaising with the local authority (where appropriate to the project) to ensure compliance with local construction regulations and by-laws;
  • communicating with clients and their representatives, including attending regular meetings to keep them informed of progress;
  • day-to-day management of the site, including supervising and monitoring the site labor force and the work of any subcontractors;
  • planning the work and efficiently organizing the plant and site facilities in order to meet agreed deadlines;
  • overseeing quality control and health and safety matters on site;
  • preparing reports as required;
  • resolving any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise.

What to expect

  • The work is mainly conducted on site. Site visits and inspections are conducted outside in all weathers and office facilities may be located in temporary buildings or converted premises. There are opportunities to work overseas for experienced engineers.
  • A reasonable level of fitness and mobility is required, as the work can be physically demanding. Site inspections may involve climbing ladders or visiting areas of sites where access is difficult. Appropriate safety equipment, such as protective boots and headgear, must be worn on-site.
  • The dress code tends to be conservative for meetings and it is expected that site engineers will be smartly dressed even when visiting sites.
  • There may be considerable travel within a working day and absence from home overnight may occasionally be necessary.
